Post-graduation Career Paths

Meteorological College graduates are assigned to JMA Headquarters or Local Meteorological Offices to work in the fields of observation, forecasting, disaster prevention, research and technical development related to weather, earthquakes, volcanoes and oceans.
Careers are advanced toward contribution to meteorological service planning/administration, consultation/coordination with other ministries/agencies and advanced research work at JMA Headquarters, regional headquarters and auxiliary organs.
Graduates may also work abroad in international cooperation with organizations such as the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in Geneva, or engage in Antarctic expeditions.
